Improving shop offerings for MMM

This post will detail the changes to the shop and product offerings in Made Man Mafia over the last 10 months and going forward.

Looks fairly dated right? Back then, if you wanted to buy extra items and support the game, you basically had two options. Buy turns to use now, or buy turns to use later.

We are super grateful for all the support you guys have shown. It's enabled us to grow and improve the game significantly. The shop is something that we always look to improve. MMM contains no advertising and does not sell any user data. That means we're fully reliant on our generous supporters to keep the game alive. We believe this loyalty shown to MMM should be reciprocated by constantly improving the game, and delivering a fun experience for as long as you play.

The philosophical bit

The approach of PvP mafia games that offer prizes has traditionally been that the player that spends the most wins. This gets pretty stale, predictable, and un-fun over time. We face the challenge of how to make the game worthy of support and keep it fun for everybody. We all know about the mobile games that use every psychological trick in the book to wring the last few cents out of your wallet. They get you addicted, and it takes you a while to realize that you're not actually having any fun.

A different way

The fundamental idea, that MMM should be fun, is #1 on our Mission statement for a reason. So we design supporter rewards and benefits in a way that enhances the gameplay instead of detracting from it. It's no longer about who buys the most, the new system is built to open up new strategies. We aim to offer you options to meet your goals and objectives. Now, if you want to support the game you can choose the packs that benefit your strategy the most.

So what's new?

Well, we kept unlimited basic reserve packs (Get Made) and (Get Paid) in most rounds. They will always offer bang for your buck.

New* themed packs with game-bonuses. These are powerful packs that can have a big factor in how well you meet your goals. If you're aiming to be the best looter in the game, the ability to gain 20% more loot is indispensable. These themed packs are limited to one per player per round. The bonus will stack with other bonuses of the same type to allow you to further specialize. These packs can also save you some time if you need a lot of defensive units in a pinch.

New* Capo bonus can be a cheap and effective way to help you punch above your weight. If you're aiming to become the Capo di Tutti Capi for a round, this comes in very handy!

New* cheaper, longer, and better Memberships. There are too many features to list here, so this one has its own post.

New* Early Bird Pack is something new we're trying out to incentivise fast-paced starts to the rounds. They'll give you a sizeable chunk of reserve turns, enough defensive units to keep you protected, and boost the earning potential of your Mafia Family. A great way to start the round.

Future updates to Made Man Mafia Shop

We always aim to provide value for money. We need to balance the rewards and power gained by supporting versus the interests of free-to-players. This is why most of our ranking categories are split so that non-spenders can win and participate in the shop side of the game through their winnings.

This makes your feedback really valuable to us. Player sentiment is one of the key ways we assess and revise our offerings.

We will aim to provide further strategic diversity through the shop. When more strategies become available, the game becomes less predictable and more exciting. As new features are released, some of them will have an accompanying shop option to enhance that feature for those who wish to show their support.
